The use of creative resources/creative practice in healthcare, including poetry and the arts has been demonstrated as having a beneficial effect for many people, helping them not just to recover from the effects of illness, but also to develop as creative individuals and citizens.
Suresearch members find that using their creativity and life experiences through music, drama, poetry, memoirs, painting, pottery, textiles, montage, needlework, sculpture, design and more can have a positive impact on their wellbeing and at the same time can make a powerful contribution to the education and understanding of others about mental health.
