Minutes of Writers’ Group Meeting

Friday 11th June 2010:

The opportunity was taken to present Nicki with her leaving card, which some members of ‘Suresearch’ had been able to sign. 

Dave asked for dates for Renata’s workshops, either in July or October.  It was decided, after some discussion, that July is too soon and that October would be easier to arrange.  This will be put to the full ‘Suresearch’ meeting in July. 

As arranged, the group listened to the song ‘For Crying Out Loud’ by Meatloaf as it had been decided at a previous meeting that this could be adapted for a song for Dave to present at a future event.  Contributions were made by all on changes to the words of the concluding part of this song. 

There was also an opportunity for Janet to read one of her poems, which could be included in a compilation to be produced by the whole group as a celebration of their time at the centre.  Janie would be contacted on what she intends with this. 

Also, from Janie, a notice of a ‘National Poetry Competition’ by ‘the Poetry Society’ with a deadline of 31st October 2010. 

The next meeting was arranged for Friday 30th July 2010 at 11.00
