EM spoke about the research work she has been involved in with colleagues from Psychology and the Institute of Applied Social Studies at the University. The project asked students, academics, service users and carers about the impact of the involvement of service users and carers in interviewing applicants for social work and psychology courses. Several questions were posed as to if it is important that involvement in admissions process is important or not.  It was found to that applicants were given a clear message about service users and carers involvement in professional training. Information about this project is attached.

Webwatch

This group meets regularly to improve the Suresearch website www.suresearch.org.uk  DB-P continues to build and manage it – discussion was held on whether the University server will continue to hold this website when the current funding to CEIMH ends. If the website needs to be independent  then the costs of this in the future need to be looked at.  Other options need to be considered like starting a blog for Suresearch.  Ideas raised on developing graphics and having photos on the website – DB-P is actioning this.  Dreamweaver training is also being given to two new Suresearch members over the next few months.

Password protect and members only area of the website were discussed – the rules that apply with University hosted websites were mentioned – it was agreed to explore content to see if we are still within the rules, so as not to breach data protection in its content to protect individuals.

Scope to include more information on the resources page for brief reports and links to more detailed information.
